About Helping Notes

Updated on

Helping Notes is an independent buying-guide site about electric kettles. We also cover the countertop water boilers that keep hot water ready all day.

We write for people who make tea, coffee or hot water every morning and want a kettle that just works. Our aim is to help you pick one that suits your drinks, your hands and your kitchen.

What we cover

Our guides cover kettles from brands like Cuisinart, Breville, Fellow, Cosori, OXO, Smeg, KitchenAid and Zojirushi. We sort them by spout, heat settings, materials, size and how easy they are to lift and pour.

We also answer the everyday questions. That means scale and cleaning, noise, energy use, the right water heat for each tea and how long a kettle should last.

How we work

We read the specs, the manuals and each maker's own information for every model we cover. We also look at what owners often report after months of use.

Then we turn it into plain guides, side-by-side comparisons and clear picks. Our How we research page explains the steps.

What we are not

We don't make or sell kettles, and no brand pays us to rank its products. Helping Notes isn't affiliated with Cuisinart, Breville, Fellow, Cosori or any other maker.

We don't claim to have used every kettle in a kitchen of our own. When we pick something, we say why, based on its specs, its features and owner feedback.

How the site is paid for

Some links here go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never decides which kettles we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
